Interior Design Questions, Answered

How long does an interior design project take?

Four weeks at the shortest, which is rare, and six to nine months for a full renovation. A renovation includes drawings, selections, procurement and construction. Timelines are set once the scope and service level are confirmed at your Greeley in-home consultation.

Do you renovate older homes near downtown Greeley and Monroe Avenue?

Yes, the Signature Service covers remodels of older homes, including the Queen Anne, Foursquare and Bungalow styles found along Monroe Avenue. Greeley's Historic Preservation Commission reviews major alterations in its two designated districts, so check with the Historic Preservation Office at 970-350-9222 before touching the exterior.

How does Greeley's dry climate affect wood floors and cabinet choices?

Dry air shrinks wood, so plan for it. Greeley gets about 14.65 inches of precipitation a year with very low humidity, which can open gaps between floor planks and crack cabinet finishes, most often in forced-air homes without a humidifier. Mandy weighs this when selecting floors and cabinetry.

Do you manage the contractor on a Greeley kitchen or bath remodel?

Yes. Through the Signature Service, Mandy, an NKBA Associate Kitchen and Bath Designer, coordinates our contractor and trade partners from drawings and selections through completion. City of Greeley Building Inspection lists a separate plan review track for remodels, at 10 working days.

Do you come to Greeley for an in-home consultation?

Yes. Mandy meets you at your Greeley home for the consultation, which is scheduled within about a month of your call. She walks the rooms with you, looks at how the house is used, and confirms which service fits. Call (970) 286-9918, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.
