A Fort Collins Interior Design Studio, Since 2021

Narrative Interiors is a Fort Collins interior design studio, open since 2021, at 3501 S Mason St. Old Town and the Eastside Historic District have older bungalows and tree-lined streets that suit careful, character-led updates. Prospect New Town has small yards, rear lanes and live/work lofts, so planning is tight. Quail Ridge has newer homes near parks. Projects run from 4 weeks to 6 to 9 months.

The Interior Design Process, Step by Step

01

Reach Out

Call (970) 286-9918 or send the form from Longmont. Consultations are usually scheduled within about a month of your call, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm.

02

In-Home Design Consultation

Mandy visits your Longmont home to see how you use each room, what the layout allows and what you want to change.

03

Design and Approval

Mandy presents the design, from layouts to finishes, and you approve it before anything is ordered. Work on a Longmont home can then proceed room by room in an order you agree.

04

Sourcing and Execution

We source the pieces and carry the project through install. Renovations are managed with our contractor and trade partners. Longmont's Building Services office lists a residential remodel permit application.

1

Signature Service

Full service design for Longmont remodels and additions, from drawings and finish selections to procurement, contractor coordination and project management. It suits the houses of the 1960s to 1990s that fill much of the city, where kitchens, baths and layouts benefit from one considered plan.

2

Curated + Collected

Furnishings, styling and architectural detailing for rooms that need a finishing layer. In a Longmont bungalow, that can mean pieces and details that respect the original character. In a newer Quail Ridge home, it can mean furnishings that settle open rooms.

3

Market-Ready Staging

Staging for Longmont listings, with furniture chosen for each home rather than a fixed package. We have staged homes in Longmont. Vacant homes are furnished from our own inventory, and occupied homes can be restyled with the owner's furniture through Listing Restyle.

Vision is the art of seeing the invisible.

Interior Design Questions, Answered

How long does an interior design project take?

Projects run from four weeks, which is rare, to six to nine months. A styling or furniture project sits at the short end, and a full renovation with drawings, selections, procurement and construction at the long end. Timelines for a Longmont home are set once the scope and service level are confirmed.

Do Longmont's historic districts restrict interior remodels?

According to the City of Longmont, no. Interior changes get no additional review or restrictions unless the owner uses financial incentives. Its Historic Preservation Commission reviews exterior changes to designated local landmarks. Confirm your own home with the Planning Department at (303) 651-8330.

Can you update a 1970s to 1990s Longmont home room by room?

Yes. Mandy plans the whole home first, then the work can proceed one room at a time, so a new kitchen and a later bath still match. Space planning, finish selections and furnishings can also be taken on their own. The order is agreed at the consultation.

Do you work with a Longmont contractor we already have?

That is decided at the consultation. Our renovations are managed with our contractor and trade partners, and Mandy coordinates the contractor on a Signature Service project. If you already have a contractor, we confirm then whether the project can run that way.

What is the first step for a Longmont interior design project?

Call (970) 286-9918 or send the form, Monday to Friday, 9am to 4pm. Mandy then schedules an in-home consultation at your Longmont home, usually within about a month of your call. The visit confirms the scope and service.
